Formula One Ing Magyar Nagydij 2009

Just over halfway through the 2009 Formula One racing season competitors head to Hungary for the tenth leg of the year’s events, the Ing Magyar Nagydij circuit in Budapest.

The Budapest circuit is made up of long, open stretches of track that encourage a fast race with only minimal slowdown during the Silver 1 turns of Sector Two. Sector Three forces competitors through a series of turns directly before the end of the lap and the course’s speed trap is set a very short distance away from the beginning of each lap. The Ing Magyar race is made up of seventy, relatively short, 4.381 kilometre laps for a total competition distance of 306.630 kilometres in all.

Michael Schumacher’s 2004 performance at the Budapest F1 leg is the current world record — drivers will have to beat a formidable 1:19.071 time if they hope to crack the best time for Hungary’s F1 course.

The 2009 Ing Magyar Nagydij will see competitors arriving in Budapest, Hungary for events scheduled for the weekend of July 24th to 26th. Friday the 24th is a full day of practice (Practice One from 10.00-11.30am and Practice Two from 2.00-3.30pm) before an additional round is set to take place on Saturday from 11am until noon.

Qualifying begins at 2.00pm on Saturday before the race itself begins on Sunday, July 26th at 2.00pm and the results of the Formula One Ing Magyar Nagydij 2009 are determined.
