PokerStars Brings Back Its World Blogger Championship of Online Poker for 2013

PokerStars' World Blogger Championship of Online Poker (WBCOOP), one of the most unusual recurring tournament series in online gaming, is set to return this spring. This eighth installment of the event is scheduled to take place over eleven days and will consist of more than thirty unique tournament games.
The 2013 WBCOOP is, as before, meant to reward poker fans with a love of writing about their favourite game. To enter the competition PokerStars members must submit a blog post or video describing one of their most memorable experiences at the site's virtual tables before sharing their submission through social media. Anyone who does this will receive tickets for WBCOOP's range of tournaments while also being eligible for prizes set aside for the Best Live Tweeter ($1,000), Best Blogger ($1,000) and Best Female Blogger ($500). Additional rewards will also be available through a leaderboard race that tracks the top competitors in each tournament. The 31 WBCOOP games will feature great cash prizes and a large main event, too. PokerStars' professional players will also be taking part in the games. Stars like Nacho Barbero, Chris Moneymaker, Liv Boeree and Lex Veldhuis have all confirmed their participation in the WBCOOP. Any player lucky enough to take one of them down will receive a $22 bounty.
Liv Boeree, one of the PokerStar pros mentioned above, spoke highly of the 2013 WBCOOP. She mentioned that she was personally invested in the events due to "having worked for poker media in the past."  "I wouldn't be surprised if some of this year's WBCOOP champions go on to win even bigger tournaments in the future," Boeree added.

PKR.com Debuts Real Money iPhone Poker App

PKR.com has always been quick to take advantage of the most exciting new technologies involved with online poker. With the recent launch of real money games for its iPhone application the popular platform looks to continue doing so by further branching out into mobile gaming.
PKR recently unveiled its iPad app, complete with a number of portable games alongside its trademark player avatars, and now plans to continue its Apple support with an iPhone version of its site. The new edition of the
PKR.com iOS app allows any iPhone owner to play real money sit and go or ring matches without having to access a computer. Multi-table tournaments (and multi-tabling features) are also being worked on as priorities for the next update. Currently, only British PKR members can access the app, though the company has spoken about its plans to bring both the iPad and iPhone software to the rest of the world in the future. PKR also confirmed that the development of another rendition of the app — this one meant for Android-based smartphones — continues to move forward.
A cheeky statement from PKR called the launch of the iPhone app "another leap forward" in the company's "plan for world mobile poker domination." The press release went on to say that the app was a great way for "owners of any generation of iPhone" to get a game of poker in during a "morning commute, lunch queue" or even a "business meeting [if] you have a great poker face." The
PKR.com iPhone app is now available as a free download from the Apple App Store.

Full Tilt Poker Ups the Ante with Daily Guaranteed Tournaments

Popular online poker network Full Tilt Poker has just become the only platform to offer its players prize guarantees for every one of its tournament games. This change has come about due to a full-scale tournament schedule revision meant to make playing at Full Tilt more lucrative than ever before.
The new schedule has already been implemented and will see the month of March filled with chances for talented players to win huge cash prizes. This month alone features a packed events calendar and tournament prize pools with more than $25 million in cash up for grabs. These games will consist of multi-entry, re-entry, Rush and multi-chance tourneys, set to appear at different times throughout each day of the week. Full Tilt Poker is coupling these events with a full line-up of satellite games as well. These qualifiers are meant to help every one of the site's players, regardless of the size of their bankroll, to get involved with the new tournament schedule. Sarne Lightman, Full Tilt Poker's Head of Marketing, has described the new tournament schedule as "another market first" that offers "players the only guaranteed schedule of any online site."
The move toward so many cash games — an impressive roster of 225 cash events maximum per day with no less than one guaranteed tournament per ten minutes — is likely to help boost Full Tilt Poker's profile in the weeks to come. Interested players should head to the site now to see what's currently on offer or check back later in March for further additions to Full Tilt's tournament schedule.

Sky Poker Makes Sky Sports News Presenter Charlotte Jackson Its Latest Poker Ambassador

Sky Poker's line-up of brand ambassadors has just grown by one as the result of a recent signing. The online poker network has now announced the addition of Sky Sports personality Charlotte Jackson to its roster of professional spokespeople.
Charlotte Jackson, a 33 year old poker player who uses the name "CharlotteJ" at the tables, comes to Sky Poker with plenty of previous experience in working with the media network. Jackson is perhaps best known as a presenter for Sky Sports News where she has been a vocal support of Liverpool FC. She is also a singer, athlete and, of course, poker player. According to Sky's bio Jackson has "enjoyed [poker] for a couple of years and [has] friends who are doing very well on the UK poker circuit" who are sure to help her further improve her ability to compete against the site's most talented players. Sky Poker members can look out for Jackson at the tables for their own shot at taking down the celebrity brand ambassador. Jackson has signed on to represent Sky Poker throughout 2013 and will be complementing her online play with appearances on Sky Poker TV broadcasts.
A press release from Sky Poker described Jackson's experience as a county level lacrosse and tennis player as an indicator of her love of competition. Those interested in trying their luck against Charlotte "CharlotteJ" Jackson can log on now to try to spot an opportunity to play against the celebrity.
