US Open Golf Betting 2011
The majors continue into the summer with the annual US Open golf tournament, a full week of professional competition between the sport’s finest players that takes place, this year, at Maryland’s Congressional Country Club.
The United States Open Championship (or US Open) is the second of the golf season’s four major championships and draws players from across the world for entry. The US Open has always featured rotating course selections, selecting venues from renowned American courses, in order to provide the highest level of excitement and unpredictability for players and spectators alike. This year’s 2011 US Open will take place at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Maryland, a historic course that adheres to the US Open’s goal of picking links where scoring is difficult and accurate driving yields the highest rewards.
Last year’s US Open took place at the Pebble Beach Golf Links in California and saw Northern Ireland’s Graeme McDowell taking the championship after American players dominated the two prior tournaments (with Lucas Glover winning New York in 2009 and Tiger Woods taking his third victory — the stunning defeat of Rocco Mediate in playoff — in California in 2008).
The 2011 US Open tournament series is scheduled to take place from 13th-19th June, 2011.
