Poker in the Park Returns for Third Year

Poker in the Park Returns for Third YearQuickly becoming an annual tradition for British poker enthusiasts, the Poker in the Park festival has been announced as scheduled for its third consecutive year. Set to take place this August, Poker in the Park III will bring back the same festivities and gaming events that have helped to make the event such a success in the past.

Poker in the Park will again be sponsored by
Bluff Europe and a host of eleven leading pub leagues including Red Tooth Poker, Big Time Poker League, Masters Poker League, LondonPubPoker.co.uk and LondonPokerMeetUp.co.uk. These sponsors will band together to offer two days full of traditional poker play and an enormous turbo sit-and-go game. The massive SNG will allow up to 80 players at a time to compete every hour in events sponsored directly by each of the participating pub leagues. Spectators will be able to watch the action from Leicester Square where a giant television screen will broadcast the sit-and-go gameplay.

The events will play out over two days at and around London’s Leicester Square. The first day, Thursday August 13
th will run from five o’clock in the afternoon until nine thirty at night before picking up again on Friday August 14th from noon until nine thirty. Thousands of poker fans are expected to be in attendance again late this summer and the return of pub league sponsors should ensure that Poker in the Park III is no less of a hit than its proven itself in its previous two years.

Stewart Cink wins the 138th British Open at Turnberry

Cink Open Golf
It was a mixed day at Turnberry which saw Tom Watson needing a par 4 on the 18th hole to pick up his sixth Open Championship, and second at Turnberry.

Watson bogeyed the 18th and went into a two way play off with Stewart Cink who had just birdied the 18th.

It was a 4 hole playoff over 5, 6, 17 and 18 which saw Cink win by six shots when Watson faded pretty much straight away.

It is a real shame for Tom Watson who was leading on every day of the championships.

Next year the
2010 Open Championship is from St. Andrews, the home of golf. Seve is hoping to play and who knows....

Ladbrokes Bingo Give Away a Stash of Cash

“Ladbrokes Bingo Give Away a ‘Stash of Cash’”

Last weekend saw Ladbrokes Bingo hosting yet another great promotion with the aptly named ‘Stash of Cash’ promotion. The giveaway prompted a large traffic volume and plenty of player excitement as members of the site scrambled to find a hidden fortune.

Users of the Ladbrokes Bingo site were able to compete for the money through both Saturday and Sunday night, trying to be the lucky winners of the £6,000 total up for grabs at Ladbrokes Bingo.

The lounge bingo room held two games on each evening of the weekend, holding winning opportunities from 8-9pm and 9-10pm. Players who were fortunate enough to be playing in the right room during the awarding of the ‘Stash of Cash’ were able to win a share of the money. The cash was allocated to those bingo rooms that were able to call a win in the least amount of time possible where it was then doled out in shared amounts set at either £1,000 or £5,000.

Ladbrokes Bingo was able to pack the site on both Saturday and Sunday night, awarding the full prize amount and creating quite a few happy players in the process.

The ‘Stash of Cash’ weekend promo proved a great hit for the online bingo hall and should only be the tip of the rewards iceberg as the site gears up for July and a new month of over-the-top prize events.

Bodog Provide Details for July’s Mini Poker Series

Bodog Provide Details for July’s ‘Mini Poker Series’

Poker fans can be forgiven if they passed over Bodog’s big announcement, dwarfed as it was by plenty of news from the continuing Las Vegas events of the 2009 World Series of Poker. While it may have been a case of bad timing however, the Bodog Mini Poker Series is certainly an event that shouldn’t be overlooked.

The upcoming Bodog Mini Poker Series will be made up of a set of No Limit Texas Hold ‘Em games designed to capture the interest of aspiring poker players currently studying the techniques of professionals competing in the
WSOP. The thirteen individual events host a low buy-in ($10+1 each) stretched out across almost two weeks of play. Top players (within the highest thirty percent) will gain entrance to a July 21st semi-final where they will then be whittled down to the top eighteen contestants eligible to battle it out in the July 23rd final event.

Bodog Poker will be awarding a seat package to the 2010 World Series of Poker for the Mini Poker Series’ champion, a prize worth approximately $12,000 USD. Interested players without a Bodog account owe it to themselves to sign up soon so they can take part in the action-packed events. The Bodog Mini Poker Series non-final and semi-final games run from Friday, July 3
rd to Wednesday, July 15th beginning at 8.35pm EST.

Wink Bingo Launches Progressive Jackpot with Moneyball

Wink Bingo Launches Progressive Jackpot with Moneyball

It seems that bingo companies can’t keep up in the industry anymore without offering a progressive jackpot to help bring players to their sites for more than just the usual game of bingo itself. Wink Bingo is no exception with the release of their new gameplay title,
Moneyball, a fresh addition to the site that is set to substantially increase the excitement available every night at the network.

The new Wink Bingo progressive jackpot is a 75-ball game that takes an unusual twist on the traditional layout of these jackpots, attaching its pattern to regularly scheduled bingo games rather than existing as an entirely separate option.

Wink Bingo Players can wait to run into the Moneyball at the hangout bingo room from 7pm to midnight. The pattern will show up three times each hour and make members cross their fingers to catch all 12 required numbers during 34 calls. If not won the jackpot continues into the next game, rolling back to £250 even after it’s been awarded and assuring that no award is too small to make the luck worthwhile.

Wink Bingo Moneyball may end up being the perfect method for drawing new traffic to Wink Bingo while still keeping existing fans happy. The innovative new game certainly offers enough incentive to get players to log on to regular games during the evening hours and there is always the (at least) £100 progressive jackpot available at every 90-ball game to add to the successful network.

Ladbrokes Bingo Celebrates Father’s Day

Ladbrokes Bingo Celebrates Father’s Day

With Father’s Day fast approaching later this June, Ladbrokes Bingo has announced plans to help members of the popular bingo site to celebrate the Dad in their life through a special hour of gameplay. With £5,000 set to be awarded to players for only one hour the upcoming Sunday looks like it will be a Father’s Day to remember for many Ladbrokes Bingo players.

2009 Father’s Day is on Sunday, June 21
st and Ladbrokes is hoping to bring in a big crowd as the day winds down. From 9pm to 10pm, members of the site can play in a special room with entry stakes set at a cost as low as 5p. The bingo network has guaranteed a pot of £5,000 for the event, promising bingo fans the chance to win large cash prizes with almost no risk required to join in. Jackpots will be set at an impressive £500 level meaning that there are a large number of prizes up for grabs from the £5K overall pot.

Aside from the already substantial Father’s Day promotion, Ladbrokes Bingo will also be bringing back the free games that proved such a hit with members throughout the month of May. The first three weekends of June will host free entry into Saturday and Sunday night games with players competing for the chance to win jackpot prizes at the £200 mark.

Gala Bingo Dishes Up Two Weeks of Free Play

Gala Bingo Dishes Up Two Weeks of Free Play

Beginning on Monday, June 8
thGala Bingo is offering members of their site a special treat with two full weeks of games that allow play without having to commit even a single penny. The series of events has been promised to include an unprecedented set of prizes; over 70 free games and a guarantee of at least 200 cash winners throughout the promotional period.

Gala Bingo Players will no doubt be excited for the complementary games as they start up on the 8th and run for the following two weeks. The beginning of the week will kick off the fantastic celebration, allowing players from the UK the option to play for free from 10am until 11pm of each of the fourteen applicable days.
