Betting for the Belgian Formula One Grand Prix

2009 Formula One Ing Belgian Grand Prix

The twelfth instalment in this year’s Formula One season is scheduled to take place at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium with the 2009 F1 Ing Belgian Grand Prix late this August. The event weekend begins only a short time after the conclusion of the season’s previous race at Valencia.

The Belgian course is full of wide-open track that serves to encourage high speeds only slowed down by the circuit’s occasional turns. Racers will have to drive well to manoeuvre some of the Grand Prix’ more demanding curves however — Sector One’s La Source and Sector Three’s breakneck Chicane serve as prime examples.

The F1 Ing Belgian Grand Prix is composed of 44, 7.004 kilometre laps, making it into a slightly longer race (by lap) than many other tracks found throughout the season. The total event distance covers 308.052 kilometres and hosts a current world record of 1:45.108, a time established in the 2004 season by K. Raikkonen.

Competitors head to the course at Spa-Francorchamps for three days of practice, qualification and racing itself over the weekend of August 28th-30th. Friday August 28th will host two rounds of practice (Practice One from 10.00-11.30 am and Practice Two from 2.00-3.30pm) while Saturday the 29th features one more trial run from 11.00am to noon before qualifications are played out at 2.00pm. The race itself kicks off at 2.00pm on Sunday August 30th.
