Formula One Grosser Preis Santander von Deutschland 2009
The ninth edition in this year’s Formula One season takes place from July 10th to 12th with the Grosser Preis Santander von Deutschland 2009 in Nürburgring, Germany.
The track is full of long stretches of straight road but is also peppered with an enormous number of sharp turns that temper the speed that can be gained during these segments of the circuit. Sector 1 brings racers into the Castrol 5 curve and a following set of technically demanding turns. Sector 2 is mainly composed of straight track segments (barring the whiplash corner of Dunlop Kehre) before Sector 3’s speed trap and NGK Schikane/Coca-Cola Kurve leading into the end of each lap.
The Nürburgring race is composed of sixty, 5.148 kilometre laps for a total distance of 308.863 kilometres. The best time held by a racer at the F1 Grosser Preis Santander von Deutschland is 1:29.468, gained by M. Schumacher during his famous 2004 season.
Contestants head to Nürburgring for Friday, July 10th to Sunday, July 12th to practice, qualify and compete in the event. Friday sees the contestants engaged in a day of trial runs (Practice One from 10-11.30am and Practice Two from 2-3.30pm) with one more practice scheduled for 11am until noon on Saturday. The afternoon of the 11th hosts 2.00pm qualifying rounds with the race itself beginning at 2.00pm on Sunday the 12th.
