Betfred Unveils Details for the 2009 Ladies Poker Tour
After the past success that Betfred Poker has enjoyed with the series the company has planned for a 2009 edition of the ever popular Ladies Poker Tour. The site has now released preliminary details for the upcoming events, giving female poker professionals a real reason to start getting excited for April.
The first stop of the series will take place in Leeds, England at the Alea Casino on April 18th. Events will then continue to play out across the UK (with one stop in Calahonda, Spain) throughout the summer until the final tournament stage is carried out on November 7th at the Western Club in London. The Alea Casino event will host a £110 buy-in alongside an additional £1,500 added to the prize pool by sponsor, Betfred. Each following leg of the 2009 Ladies Poker Tour will award the winning player with a spot in the grand finale of the series on November 21st. The top contestant in this finale will receive an impressive £20,000 sponsorship package from the Tour’s backing company.
Jon Wilde, spokesman for the 2009 Ladies Poker Tour spoke to press about Betfred’s excitement for the series which has been growing in popularity with every year of its existence. Wilde also mentioned his interest in watching the efforts of Lynne Beaumont, two-time winner of the Tour and player for Team Betfred Poker.
